Why Is Omega-3 So Important?

Here at Coromega, we produce delicious and nutritious omega-3 supplements based on the belief that omega-3 fatty acids are essential to our daily health. So why are these nutrients, found mostly in fish oil, so important? With extensive research and new findings emerging, the health benefits of omega-3 are plentiful. Here’s a rundown on just how important these fatty acids are, and how you and your family can bulk up on them.

“So, what can omega-3 do for me?”

In adults, omega-3 fatty acids have been said to:

  • Maintain overall cardiovascular and arterial health
  • Support joint health, help to reduce inflammation and pain
  • Support brain health, promoting concentration and long-term cognitive functions
  • Promote mental well-being
  • Support eye health

In infants and children, omega-3 may:

  • Lend to overall growth and development
  • Support prenatal and postnatal development of the brain and eyes

“Where can I find omega-3?”

Omega-3s, which include EPA and DHA fatty acids, are polyunsaturated fatty acids essential for many normal body functions and cannot be made by our bodies. Therefore, we must find these nutrients through other means, including fish, plant and nut oils. EPA and DHA are available in coldwater fish, such as salmon, halibut, tuna, sardines, anchovies and of course…COROMEGA!

“But what if I don’t like fish?”

We understand that many of you are not huge fans of fish, so we created Coromega Omega3 Squeeze: a daily packet of emulsified fish oil that offers 300 percent better absorption of omega-3 than fish oil softgels. Flavored with citrus to mask any fishy taste, Coromega Omega3 Squeeze is available in orange, chocolate orange and lemon lime flavors, and is a tasty alternative that makes taking omega-3 fun!

Since this is our first topical blog post, we want to introduce to you the final section that will be found in most of our posts, called “What’s Your Squeeze?” Here, we’ll pose a question or two to get your thoughts on each subject and to get to know you better. Don’t be shy! We can’t wait to hear from you!

What’s Your Squeeze?

What have you heard, previous to this post, about omega-3 fatty acids?

What are your experiences with omega-3?

Hugs and NO Fishy Kisses,

Team Coromega
