It seems like we have been doing a lot of giveaways lately – and we love it! One special offer that was available to our Coromega Club members in April was the chance to win a year’s subscription to Autism-Asperger’s Digest Magazine simply by posting on our Facebook wall. Originally, we only had ten subscriptions to offer but, after having spoken to the nice folks at Autism Digest, we were given an extra two so everyone who participated could be a winner! Congratulations to:

Coromega CEO Brian Dyson’s Omega-3 Score Revealed!
We received a lot of great guesses regarding the omega-3 level of Brian Dyson, Coromega’s CEO and Chairman of the Board.
We loved your feedback, and now it’s time to satisfy everyone’s curiosity. Just what is Brian’s omega-3 score?
He comes in at a 10.1% total omega-3 score! As we mentioned in our previous post, the average American’s omega-3 level is 4.2%, though they should be aiming for the optimal level of 8% or higher.
Congratulations to Diane Lowe, who submitted the winning guess! She will receive a free 30 day supply of Coromega Omega3 + D! Diane says, “I am saying 10.1% for Brian’s score. I really like Coromega and I am taking it regularly, unlike the fish caps from before. I can tolerate yours better. My doctor is pleased with my progress in lowering my numbers all around!” Please e-mail your contact information to Coromega1@gmail.com so we can send you your prize.
As we expected, Brian’s score is off the chart – something he attributes to taking Coromega every day as part of his nutritional routine. Brian says the best part of taking Coromega daily is that it helps him feel fantastic.
“The primary reason I am involved with Coromega is that throughout my life I have been a strong believer in health and well-being, and taking care of yourself is a big part of that,” he said. “The reason I’m invested in this company is because I understand firsthand how it makes me feel and the overall health benefits I receive. The taste is an added bonus. Seeing my omega-3 test results was exciting because it reaffirms my conviction and energizes my belief that Coromega Omega3 can be instrumental to people’s health throughout the U.S.”
Those who submitted guesses will also win a prize for participating – a free 7 day pack of our original Coromega Omega3 Squeeze in orange! Please also send your contact information to Coromega1@gmail.com.
Thanks to everyone who participated! Make sure to visit The Squeeze often for new blog posts and news from Coromega.
April is Autism Awareness Month, which encourages education and knowledge of Autism Spectrum Disorders. Autism affects on average one in every 110 children in the U.S., according to the most recent report from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
In support of Autism Awareness Month, Coromega is honoring some of our most important customers – these remarkable kids! We are on the hunt for four exceptional youngsters who have had great experiences with Coromega to name our “Coromega Kid of the Week.” Each week in April, we’ll feature one special Coromega fan on our Facebook page, on Twitter and on The Squeeze blog. Each Coromega Kid of the Week will also receive a 30-count box of the Coromega product of their choice!
To enter your little guy or gal, just head over to our Facebook page and post a picture of them telling us why they should be our Coromega Kid of the Week. We will also take nominations for an additional Kid of the Week via Twitter, so remember to visit our page on Twitter to submit a picture and 140-character reason why your child is the best. We can’t wait to hear about your wonderful kids!
We have another fun giveaway planned for Autism Awareness Month, but you’ll need to join the Coromega Club to find out the details, which will be included in our April e-newsletter tomorrow! Five Club members will win an awesome prize – click here to sign up and for a chance to win.
By now, it’s well recognized that a diet rich in Omega-3s has a range of health benefits. You might be taking an Omega-3 supplement every day, but how do you know if it’s working or if you’re really getting enough? We went to Dr. Doug Bibus, a scientific advisor for Coromega and a clinical nutritionist, who helped explain how an individual’s Omega-3 level is determined.
“Fatty acids in our system are expressed in a percent composition, meaning each fatty acid is a percent of the total or all the fatty acids present,” said Dr. Bibus. “Thus, an Omega-3 score of 4% means that 4 of every 100 fatty acids in the blood are Omega-3.”
Research shows that the majority of Americans are deficient in Omega-3s. According to Dr. Bibus, the optimum Omega-3 range is 8% or above, but the U.S. average is almost less than half of that at 4.2%! A study published in 2002 in The New England Journal of Medicine* suggests that Omega-3 blood levels at 6.87% are associated with a 90% relative risk reduction of sudden death from cardiac causes.
Dr. Bibus and Dr. Ralph Holman (one of the country’s foremost Omega-3 researchers) developed a special Omega-3 test to help people find out if they are in the healthy Omega-3 zone. Drs. Bibus and Holman define someone who tests in the 0 to 6% range as deficient in Omega-3s, 6 to 8% as good and 8% or more as excellent. We decided to team up with the doctors and recently gave the test to our CEO and chairman of the board, Brian Dyson. Brian has been taking Coromega daily for 10 years, so we were especially curious to see what his score was!
Where did Brian score on the Omega-3 scale? Leave a comment below with your guess – if you’re the first to guess Brian’s Omega-3 level number correctly, we’ll send you a 30ct. Omega3 Squeeze + D for free!
And stay tuned – we plan to offer the Holman Omega-3 Test at a deep discount on our April newsletter. If you are not currently receiving our Coromega Club Newsletter, you can sign up at http://www.coromega.com/coromega-clubs/coromega-club/.

Smoothie Recipe: A St. Patty’s Citrus Delight
When we talk to people about Coromega Squeeze, we can’t help but talk up the benefits of taking omega-3s in our proprietary emulsified form. A few of our favorite highlights:
- Better absorption – Coromega has 300 percent better absorption of omega-3s than softgels, clinically proven
- Taste – Coromega products come in delicious flavors without the fishy aftertaste common with softgels or liquids
- Convenience – Coromega is packaged in convenient squeeze packets that allow you to take them wherever, whenever
Another thing that excites us: the many different ways you can take Coromega. One great way is by mixing Coromega into a smoothie, so we thought we’d share with you this tasty citrus smoothie recipe from IncredibleSmoothies.com, which can be paired with our Omega3 Squeeze in Orange or Lemon Lime, Omega3 + D, Coromega Heart and Kids DHA Omega3 Squeeze in Orange and Lemon Lime.
Bonus: the smoothie is green, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! Enjoy, and please feel free to post your favorite ways to enjoy Coromega below.
We taste tested this smoothie and can honestly say it’s not only good for you but tastes delicious!
Lemon-Orange with Apple Green Smoothie
- 1/2 large lemon, peeled
- 1 large orange, peeled
- 1 large organic apple, cored
- 2 cups or handfuls organic baby spinach (or other leafy green)
- 4 to 6 ounces of filtered water
- 1 packet of Coromega Omega3 Squeeze
Squeeze the lemon into the smoothie or toss it in like an orange. You can also substitute the citruses in the recipe – lime for lemon or grapefruit for orange.
Add all the ingredients except for the greens to your blender and hit the “pulse” button a few times. Next, add the rest of the greens and blend on high for 30 seconds or until the smoothie is creamy.
Nutrition Information (w/o Coromega)
Calcium: 14% RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance)
Iron: 12% RDA
Vitamin A: 261% RDA
Vitamin C: 167% RDA
This smoothie is also a rich source of folate, vitamins B2, B6, and K, copper, magnesium, and manganese.
You’ve probably seen us mention bioavailability quite often – on our website, our packaging and other promotional materials, but you may have wondered what exactly bioavailability is and what does it mean for you?
According to the Merriam-Webster encyclopedia, bioavailability is defined as “the degree and rate at which a substance (as a drug) is absorbed into a living system.” Supplements in hard shell capsule form can have a low bioavailability rate because after the human body decomposes the capsule fillers and lining, most nutrients have already passed through. Since Coromega is in a semi-liquid format and its oil is emulsified in water, it is three times better digested and absorbed than encapsulated fish oil.
A study published in the June 2009 issue of the Journal of American Dietetic Association confirms that emulsified fish oil, such as Coromega, has a 300 percent superior bioavailability rate than fish oil in softgels1. So what does this mean for you? Well, this means that Coromega users get 300% more EPA and DHA in their system than traditional fish oil capsule users in one delicious Squeeze and without the fishy aftertaste! With more EPA and DHA in your system, you are likely to reap more of the amazing health benefits that fish oil has to offer.
In good health,
